  • Indian Game Developers Set to Showcase Innovations on Global Platforms

02 May 2025 – WinZO, India’s leading interactive entertainment platform, in collaboration with the Interactive Entertainment and Innovation Council (IEIC), today announced 20 winners under the Bharat Tech Triumph Program (BTTP) at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai. Anchored under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s ‘Create in India’ initiative, BTTP champions the export of Indian gaming intellectual property (IP) to global markets.

Selected from over 2,000 entries, the winners will showcase at WAVES 2025, with several already having represented India at prestigious global forums such as GDC and Gamescom. The BTTP is designed to nurture India’s top gaming talent with global mentorship, investor access, and product refinement aimed at international audiences.

The Indian gaming industry, currently valued at USD 3.7 billion, is now a dominant force in new-age media. With global gaming valued at USD 300 billion, BTTP seeks to position India as a major IP exporter—following successful models like Israel and Finland.

Startups like Brahman Studios and 5th Ocean Studios exemplify this mission with culturally rooted games such as AUM-The Game and Ilavath: Battle Arenas. “Being selected for GDC, Startup Mahakumbh, and WAVES is a lifetime opportunity for an independent developer like me,” said Sowmitri Maluchuru, founder of Brahman Studios.

In a healthcare crossover, Xfinito Biodesigns received recognition under the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge for gamified health tech products MiMo and ReLive, developed in partnership with DPIIT. Mentor Shri Rohit Kumar Singh said, “Gaming, with its immersive content and wide appeal, empowers individuals to manage their health proactively.”

Venture capitalist and BTTP jury member Prashanth Prakash noted:

“India’s startup ecosystem is growing at a galloping speed… If India plays its cards right, it has the potential to become a leading global gaming market with a market size of over 50-60 bn by 2034.”

Paavan Nanda, Co-founder of WinZO, added, “These creators symbolize India’s unlimited potential in exporting cutting-edge gaming technology, vibrant culture, and powerful IP worldwide.”

BTTP reflects India’s growing creative confidence and ambition to become a global leader in gaming exports.
